Biography

Dr. Jahanbakhshzadeh is an assistant professor in the Department of Mining, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at Université Laval. His work focuses primarily on mining geotechnics and rock mechanics. He specializes in the analysis of the geotechnical behavior of mining structures, particularly through analytical approaches and numerical modeling. His research projects mainly concern the stability of mining structures, the management and behavior of mine tailings, underground mine backfill, rock mechanics, and the evaluation of the static and dynamic response of soils and mining materials.
With experience combining academic research and practical experience in the mining industry, Dr. Jahanbakhshzadeh seeks to develop methods and solutions to better understand and predict the behavior of geotechnical mining structures. His work aims to contribute to the development of safer and more sustainable mining practices, particularly in the areas of tailings management, structure stability, and geotechnical design.
